The future of faculty retention starts here.
The Consortium of Academic Development for Liberatory Legacies is a resource hub and learning community for postsecondary educators who want to do more than just survive the academy.
Our Mission
To nurture an academic legacy of liberation rooted in individual and collective care, thriving, and justice
Who We Serve
Educators and institutional leaders across industries, disciplines, fields, and institutional types interested and invested in cultivating new ways to support the next generation of academics
What We Do
The Consortium of Academic Develpoment for Liberatory Legacies provides academics with the skills to manage situations seldom broached in coursework or labs (e.g., burnout, rejection, compassion fatigue) and a network to support interdisciplinary belonging and connection.
Our Call
Liberatory Legacies is your invitation to reimagine the kind of education current and future faculty need to thrive and succeed in academe.
Our Values & Beliefs
Liberation
We value education (in all its forms) as a powerful tool for addressing and eliminating oppression so all people have the means to lead flourishing lives. We believe a world free of oppression is possible and worthy of pursuit.
Praxis
We value the transformation that ensues when theory and action converge to solve societal issues. It is not enough to simply theorize about liberation in academe; we must promote it through daily practices, policies, programs, and procedures.
Care
We value individual and collective care as central and vital to the project of surviving and thriving in the academy. We believe the well-being of academics (supported by reflection, creative expression, mental and physical health maintenance, etc.) is the key to persistence, resilience, excellence (i.e., ability to support learners and engage in societally impactful work), and the overall retention of faculty, staff, and administrators in the academy.
